Are there any alternatives to XSI?

ive tried repeatedly to get XSI working, but because you need the commercial version to get it to work for battlefront, i cant use it, unless of course i buy it which i will if i have too, but, ive read a few times people using blender or other programs to edit models, if someone knows how, could they please comment?

You can use the XSI 7.5 modtools which is free. You also need the ZEtools to import export .msh

ok i downloaded the zetools, but i cant seem to find were to import the .msh, which version should i have for modtools 7.5?

They go into the C:\users\Autodesk\Softimage_Mod_Tool_7.5\Addons

Win 7 and higher might have a slightly different path.

ok got it, i had to get python/pywin and what not,

the other problem is whenever i click on 1 of the 4 screens even without the addon it crashes, with the addon i can import a model, then click on it and it crashes, this is a softimage issue not a modding issue ik so ill look elsewere, but if anyone has any expericence with this?
