| I gave up trying to use XSI/Softimage, so I'm switching over to Blender, which by default can import and export .obj files (that's a start). Blender, if anyone wants to use it, is here: https://www.blender.org/
It can accomplish a lot of things and you can switch the user interface and controls to be more like XSI, or like Maya, or like 3DS Max. It's great. Also, there is an addon that I just installed that allows me to import and export .msh files!
Here is the link to the thread with the addon: http://orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=18661
And just use Google to find any other addon that may be helpful for Blender users and post them here, if you would like! |

| Thanks Revan! Very useful! But the addon will work with blender 2.77a? - Quote :
- 1 May, 2012. UPDATE! The current version of the add-on works only with Blender 2.63 or later with Bmesh (new powerful mesh system with Ngons).
I think there are no problems....but just in case.... Also how did you manage to install the addon? Where? |

| Thanks Revan I've finnaly found a solution: 1) Download the 2.63a version of blender Here (Warning this will not work with the lastest version of Blender!) 2) Extract the files and install the software. 3) Download this .msh addon (importer/exporter) Here4) Install the addon and you are ready! (Check some yt vids if you need help). =EDIT= The .msh importer dosen't work...the exporter is good. |
