Having a sound problem with my Coynite Disruptor rifle's sound. I gave it a disruptor rifle sound .wav, proper format and all. The sound is not playing in-game. Either that or it's so quiet I can't hear it at all. Whatever's going on, either way it's not working.

I followed Icemember's custom sound tutorial to the letter. The .bat files are correct and everything should be where they need to be. Here's a couple of pictures (since Icemember needed me to post a couple of pictures of my gamedata map directory) and also my mungelog.

The 2nd picture shows your abc.lvl is not even in the sound folder lol. It can't play sound without it lol. Try placing it in the sound folder. And they be your sound.

You may have to re-munge the sound if the abc.lvl in your sound folder located here: C:\BF2_ModTools\data_LJU\_LVL_PC\Sound is not showing up.

If so, Delete all folders located here: C:\BF2_ModTools\data_LJU\_BUILD\Sound.
But do-not delete the clean.bat and munge.bat

Delete everything here:C:\BF2_ModTools\data_LJU\_LVL_PC\Sound.

Then remunge by hitting select all, then munge.

Copy the sound folder from here:C:\BF2_ModTools\data_LJU\_LVL_PC\Sound
to here: C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars Battlefront II\GameData\addon\LJU\data\_LVL_PC

Then test your weapon Smile

Ah hah! Will do that in a sec. I knew something had to be wrong. That happened the last few times or so when munging, where the ABC.lvl didn't even show up. *facepalm*

Let me get done conquering Theed in SW:GB and I will do just that.

It's funny how dodgy things can be when modding. The smallest things, something as simple as forgetting to reference a file or not even having a file in its proper place...or the munge process not even functioning correctly like it should. This process has always been annoying. Thanks Commander.

Huh. It's still not making an abc.lvl where you said. Even after doing what you said. If it's not even going there, then where would it pop up?

For some odd reason, it's still not creating an abc.lvl file in the sound folder when munging. I cleaned, remunged, manually cleaned, remunged again, double-checked that everything was right on the money, and still it's not wanting to create the correct file so that it can actually play the desired sound. You said something about moving an abc.lvl file into there earlier in the event that it doesn't want to create one?

After over looking my tut. I missed a critical step lol.

Go here: C:\BF2_ModTools\data_LJU and open the soundmungedir.bat

Add this line: @for /R %%A in (*.asfx) do @echo Munging %%~nA%%~xA & @soundflmunge -platform %4 -banklistinput %%A -bankoutput %MUNGEDIR%\ %CHECKDATE% -resample -checkid noabort %SOUNDOPT% 2>>%MUNGE_LOG% 1>>%SOUNDLOGOUT%

Then remunge.

Hmm. Well it's still not creating that certain .lvl file I need. Also, does that soundmungelevel.bat have anything to do with it? Was wondering about that today.

Yes, that needs to be done in order for the sound to appear in its correct place.

NOTE: Updated the tut with this step also.

Ah hah! I had a feeling it was that .bat file. Because all I saw steps for in the tutorial were the recent soundmungedir.bat (this part I actually did from the other Tut on GT) and the soundmunge.bat. Thanks for clarifying that. I figured that would have to have been it.

Wait, so what line do I have to edit for that one as well? My soundmungedir and soundmunge bat files are edited like the tutorial said, but what do I need for soundmungelevel.bat?

If I need to edit it at all, I mean?

Spoiler:

You would edit your soundmungedir.bat here: C:\BF2_ModTools\data_ABC

Add this line:

@for /R %%A in (*.asfx) do @echo Munging %%~nA%%~xA & @soundflmunge -platform %4 -banklistinput %%A -bankoutput %MUNGEDIR%\ %CHECKDATE% -resample -checkid noabort %SOUNDOPT% 2>>%MUNGE_LOG% 1>>%SOUNDLOGOUT%

Well as I already said, I edited that .bat with that line already. I think I did it yesterday. It's still weird that, when munging, it's not doing what it's suppose to.

Spoiler:

EDIT - I found another word-o in the soundmunge bat. There was another abc I forgot to replace. Here's to hoping it works!

EDIT 2 - Got it! It spawned the correct file. Be right back.

EDIT 3 - Problem solved! Stupid typos....
