PostSubject: Christmas Holiday viruses   Christmas Holiday viruses I_icon_minitime12/20/2011, 1:24 am

It seems that lately there have been a new influx of viruses/malware/spyware recently. I had the unfortunate run in with a rogue anti-Virus program called "Vista Home Security 2012 (Unregistered)". It's a variant of the 2012-name-changing-rogue program. So be on the look out for it. I haven't had a virus on this computer ever until now. But I am using the only ways to fix this problem and eradicating this nuisance. And this will cause me to step up my security further.

About three years ago, I had a keylogger attack my Steam account. I got by account back within a day, but the hassle was changing all of my passwords. I mean ALL of my passwords. About two years ago, I had an MSN virus that completely hijacked that account. I really hate how people could create programs like that. It's completely wrong. Anyways, I KNOW the steps to take to get rid of viruses, however it's a lot of stress to go along with them, because I keep wondering just where they come from and it makes me freak out and get mad. Viruses/malware/spyware are typically agents that make people go through a ton of mental stress.

While I am upset by the latest one, it's not AS bad as some I've had in the past. It goes to show that, no matter how protected you are, a virus is bound to get through somewhere. The real question is, is anyone prepared to deal with the ways to get rid of it?

I conclude my message with: Just watch out. Be on the look out this holiday. They seem to be a bit more active at this time of year. It's been a trend that I've seen with people over the years.

Edit - Good news. I seemed...SEEMED to have eradicated it. I will run a thorough check with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware as well as Avast tonight to double-check.
